All of these covers are interesting, but in many different ways. I really like the NME cover because it is really bright and the image has been well thought out. Also, all the writing on the cover has been put on around the image to make the image the main focus of the cover - In general the whole composition of this cover is really nice. However, i think that this magazine cover is a bit too busy - There is just a little bit too much writing, and to have another smaller image (relating to another article in the magazine) on the cover just makes the cover look like a mish-mash of whats going on. Also, the colour scheme is a bit too much as there are alot of colours going on in this cover (Red, Yellow, Orange, Black, White, etc). I much prefer magazine covers with one, simple image on the cover and coverlines (as apose to pictures as well). I think it looks alot more chic and sophisticated - That is why i really like the Q cover and the Rolling Stone cover. However, the Rolling Stone cover may only have one image, it is still a very busy cover as it has alot of coverlines (Alot more coverlines than i will have on my magazine cover). Also, the busy background of the picture of Gaga (The neon pink 'bubbles') is quite a busy backgrond and to have a lot of text over the top of it is just too much. Even though the colour scheme has been thought out well to stick to pink being the main colour with alot of other neutral tones, I just don't think it works too well. The Q cover is by far my favourite. The one simple, and yet interersting image of Gaga looks so good in the middle of the page, with the title and coverlines all fixed around it. I love the way that certain words/coverlines are behind the image, whereas some are on top - this makes the whole composition work very well and shows significance of many different things on the cover. Also, the colour scheme has been thought out very well, sticking to reds/black/white & neutral tones to make the cover look interesting and stand out, and still classy. The fonts also emphaysize this idea of being 'chic' and classy with the bold mix of Serif fonts and Sans-serif fonts. When thinking about my magazine i will head well more towards something like Q as apose to a cover like NME.
